Flight attendant says there's only 'one way to shoot your shot' if you fancy them

Knowing when and where to take your shot is half the battle

Flying can be a stressful experience, but being rejected by a flight attendant you've just hit on, and then having to spend the rest of the flight with them might be a little more embarrassing and stressful than most people want to endure on a flight.

As humiliating as that might be, that doesn't mean you shouldn't take your shot when the time is right.

According to flight attendant, Tyra, who goes by the TikTok handle @wheelsupwithtyra, there's a time and a place to do it. But if done in the right way, you don't have to miss your shot.

The Delta Air Lines employee says: "If you see a cute flight attendant and want to start a conversation: please don’t."

However, that doesn't mean you have to miss out on an opportunity for love, as she suggests another way.

Tyra has some words of wisdom for anyone looking to flirt while 40,000 feet up in the sky.

She advises flyers: "Do not hit on a flight attendant in flight... during flight, whatever, do not do that because you are making it awkward."

Instead, she says that the best way to take your shot is to simply hand them your number when you get off the plane. This way, you're leaving it up to them if they want to call you or not, and not making the situation awkward for everyone involved.

You might think that it's just the female flight attendants that get hit on up in the air, but nope, male flight attendants are flirted with too.

On the r/flightattendants sub Reddit, plenty of male flight attendants have come forwards to share their experience of being hit on in the air.

Reddit user, flying_ina_metaltube recalled times when he had been hit on by other flight attendants who had children older than him, as well as passengers while he was working.

While other Reddit users pointed out that women would hit on them, even though they were gay, with one male flight attendant chipping in with: "But what people say here are pretty accurate, a significant number of male FAs are gay so if you’re female… uh good luck."

No matter who you're into, it seems flight attendants in general are subjected to constant attempts to flirt.

While it might be tempting to outright 'go for it', perhaps next time consider Tyra's advice, leave them with your number, and save yourself the embarrassment if they don't feel the same way. You never know, doing it the right way might work in your favour and land you a date.
